Marko Grujic reveals ‘dream’ to play for Liverpool next season after Hertha Berlin loan spell ends
The Serbia midfielder, who was Jurgen Klopp’s first signing as Liverpool boss when he joined in a £5.1million deal from Red Star Belgrade in January 2016, is in his second season on loan at Hertha Berlin.
Grujic has played just 14 times for the Reds in almost four years, with his most recent appearance coming as a late substitute in a 5-1 win over Brighton in December 2017.
Despite Grujic’s lack of playing time at Anfield, which also saw him shipped out on loan to Cardiff in the Championship, he still harbours hopes of breaking into Klopp’s side.
The 23-year-old told German outlet Berliner Kurier: “My dream is to get the chance in Liverpool next season.

“If not, I would be very happy to come back and be part of this project. I’m a Hertha fan. Everything looks very professional and ambitious.

“The conditions are wonderful. Berlin deserves European football.
“Of course, the club (Liverpool) worries if I do not play well. Most importantly, I collect game practice. We analyse all my games.
“All with the context and hope that I will play in Liverpool next year. If it does not work and the club wants to loan me again, I would be very happy to stay another year with Hertha.”
