Latest on Road Dogg, CM Punk Enters Jiu-Jitsu, Roast of Ric Flair

It was reported last week that Brian “Road Dogg” James is no longer working as the co-head writer for SmackDown. Road Dogg went into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of D-Generation X over WrestleMania 35 weekend, but he then stepped down from his position shortly afterwards. In an update from PWInsider, is has been confirmed that the New Age Outlaw member is still under contract with WWE but he is now taking a break from the company. Road Dogg did not attend this week’s WWE television shows in Montreal, and the company is now in the process of selecting a different role for him to take on. As of right now, there is no word on when the former WWE Tag Team Champion will be brought back.
Former WWE star CM Punk is still training for his next MMA fight, and it also appears that he is learning some Brazilian jiu-jitsu. The former WWE Champion took part in a jiu-jitsu tournament recently at the Chicago Grappling Games, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Punk finished third in the Men’s Seniors Gi, Blue Belts, under 199.99 division. The tournament is the latest move from Punk to increase his fighting knowledge. Punk has competed in two professional fights for UFC, but has been unsuccessful both times. Although his future with UFC appears to be in doubt, Punk is still said to be interested in fighting and moving up in the world of MMA. It should be interesting to see what the former pro wrestler will be able to accomplish over the next few years.
