Riddle Speaks After NXT Debut, Harper Runs Into Former ROH Champ

It was previously reported that Matt Riddle made his NXT in-ring debut at last Friday night’s Live Event in Sanford, Florida. He defeated Fabian Aichner. You can check out the photos and the videos from the match along with WWE’s announcement and Twitter comments from Riddle at this link. Below is a more official video from the match along with comments from the former UFC fighter and former EVOLVE Champion:
“I just made my debut at NXT, just got my first win, feel pretty good. It’s been a long time coming and it feels nice to finally be in NXT, and not only be here and perform but win,” Riddle said. “You never know when you work at a new place, especially a place with such prestige as NXT, but then you come through the curtains, even before I came through the curtains, [the ‘Bro!’ chants]. What’s next for me? Well, I got one win and I’m here, and if I keep winning and proving myself I’ll be undeniable and I’ll get exactly what I want.”

One half of The Former SmackDown Live Tag Team Champion Harper is currently in a hiatus as his partner Rowan is currently out of action due to an injury he sustained over a month ago. In the Professional Wrestling business, we can expect that two wrestlers from different wrestling promotions are the best of friends outside of their respective companies. Just recently, Harper ran into former ROH World Champion Dalton Castle while the two were in Chicago. Harper noted that he was involved with Castle’s first pro wrestling match in front of 50 people in Canada. Both wrestlers are originally from Rochester, New York. Castle also tweeted out the same photo with the caption “power couple”, as seen below:
